Surf

The Bukit is one of the world's great surf destinations, but most of its reef breaks, including Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Bingin and Impossibles, are for experienced surfers. Beginners are better off with a lesson at a sandy-bottom spot such as Dreamland, Balangan's inside on small days, or the east-coast breaks, often with transport to Kuta or Canggu when the swell is big.

This page lists surf schools, guides, board hire and surf shops. The dry season, roughly April to October, brings offshore winds and the biggest swells to the west coast; in the wet season, the east-coast breaks around Nusa Dua come to life.
