GWK Cultural Park occupies a former limestone quarry on the hill above Ungasan and is dominated by the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, the god Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda, which rises well over 100 metres including its pedestal and is visible from much of the Bukit. The park is laid out around carved limestone cliffs, open plazas, a lotus pond and an amphitheatre.
Daily cultural performances and participatory Balinese rituals run through the day, and the BarAong performance can be added to an entry ticket. The Top of Statue Tour takes visitors up inside the statue with a guide to the best viewpoints. Food options range from Jendela Bali for panoramic dining to a buffet restaurant, local food and a Starbucks, and the park hosts events such as the Bali Countdown on New Year's Eve and an ogoh-ogoh festival.
Google lists hours as daily 09:00–21:00. Buy tickets at ticket.gwkbali.com; buggy transport around the park can be added. Late afternoon is cooler and good for photos of the statue in golden light.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
