Warung Ubay is a simple, friendly restaurant on Jl. Raya Uluwatu in Ungasan that has built a big following among villa guests and expats in the area. Rated around 4.7 from more than a thousand reviews, it is known for consistent cooking and prices well below the resort restaurants nearby.

The menu is long and mixes Indonesian classics with Asian and international dishes: tuna steak and tuna skewers, tom yum, curries, salads, black pepper beef, chicken spring rolls, dim sum and even seafood carbonara. Portions are generous and there are healthy options alongside the comfort food. Service is quick and attentive.

Open daily from 09:00 to 22:00. It is a dependable everyday choice if you are staying in Ungasan or heading to the southern beaches, and many visitors end up eating here repeatedly. Parking is on the roadside. There is no formal booking system; walk in, and expect it to be busiest in the early evening when villa guests arrive for dinner.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
