Warung Sunny

Warung Sunny is a family-run warung on Jl. Melasti, the road that leads from Ungasan down to Melasti Beach. It looks small from the street but opens into a surprisingly spacious dining room with checked tablecloths, and it has an outstanding rating of around 4.9.

The cooking is home-style and fresh: gado-gado with an excellent peanut sauce, nasi goreng, peanut chicken rice, soups with tempeh and tofu, and plenty of fresh vegetables on every plate. Juices such as lemon and papaya are a good match. Prices are fair and service is fast and friendly.

Open Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 19:30; closed on Sundays. It makes an easy lunch stop on the way to or from Melasti Beach, or an early dinner. It is a no-frills place, and the food is the reason to go. Expect a simple warung atmosphere with fans rather than air-conditioning; it is run by a friendly family who are happy to explain the dishes.
