Puja Mandala, on Jalan Kuruksetra just outside the Nusa Dua enclave, is a complex where five houses of worship stand next to each other along a single terrace: a mosque, a Catholic church, a Protestant church, a Buddhist vihara and a Hindu pura. It was built as a symbol of religious harmony in Indonesia and is a striking example of the country's official pluralism.
Visitors can walk the length of the complex and look into each building from outside, and step inside when services are not taking place. Each building follows its own architectural tradition, from the Balinese split gate of the Hindu temple to the pagoda-like vihara, which makes for an interesting short visit and good photographs.
Google lists visiting hours as daily 08:00–16:00. Dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered, and be respectful during prayer times, especially at Friday midday prayers at the mosque and on Sunday mornings at the churches. There is parking in front. Allow 30–45 minutes.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
