Devdan, subtitled Treasure of the Archipelago, is a large-scale theatre show at the Bali Nusa Dua Theatre inside the ITDC resort complex. It follows two children on a journey through Indonesia, using traditional dances from Bali, Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Papua alongside modern aerial acrobatics, elaborate costumes and lighting effects.
Performances run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 19:30 and last about 75 minutes with no interval, which makes it a good evening out for families who would find a temple dance hard going. Tickets come in four categories: VIP includes a hotel shuttle, lounge access with snacks before the show and an on-stage photo with the dancers; Categories A and B include the shuttle; Category C is the ticket only.
Book up to three months ahead on the Devdan website or via WhatsApp; prices are in rupiah and cards are accepted. Arrive 30 minutes before curtain-up. The theatre is a short drive from Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa hotels.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
