The View is the restaurant at Biu Biu Resort, perched on the cliffs above the northern end of Balangan beach. True to its name, it looks across the water towards Jimbaran Bay with Bali's volcanoes on the horizon on clear days, and it is open to outside guests from breakfast to dinner.
The menu mixes Asian and international dishes with an emphasis on seafood; grilled fish is a frequent recommendation and the pandan crème brûlée is a well-liked dessert. It tends to be quieter than the big-name clifftop venues, which suits a relaxed lunch or an unhurried sunset dinner. The resort has its own small beach between the cliffs.
Open daily from 07:00 to 22:00. Reserve a front-row table online or by phone for sunset, as these are the seats everyone wants. Being on an open cliff edge, there can be insects on still evenings. Drive or ride along Jl. Pantai Balangan and follow signs for Biu Biu.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
