Yuki is a Japanese restaurant near the Suluban end of Jl. Labuansait. Its open-sided timber dining room, Japanese-style decor and careful lighting make it a popular date-night choice, and some evenings bring live music.
The signature is the wagyu sando, which appears on almost every table. Other favourites include tuna tartare, salmon and chicken katsu maki, chicken thigh skewers and a duck claypot, along with inventive salads. Unusually for a Japanese restaurant, there is a substantial vegan selection, including vegan sushi rolls and ice cream. Cocktails are a strong point.
Open daily from 11:00 to 23:00. Prices are on the higher side for Uluwatu. Book for dinner, especially at weekends. Sushi purists may find the rolls more creative than traditional, but the hot dishes and grills are consistently praised. Plan on sharing several small plates, skewers and rolls between two or more people rather than ordering a single main each. Parking is shared with neighbouring venues near the Suluban turn-off, so a taxi drop-off is easiest in the evening.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
