Three Steps Coffee is a garden café on Jl. Raya Uluwatu just before the entrance to Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu). It is a calm, shaded space with lawn and timber seating, and it fills a gap in an area where most food is sold from simple stalls around the temple car park.

The menu is broad and good value: Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng and satay chicken, garlic chicken, chicken teriyaki, vegetarian pizza and veggie burgers, plus coffee, juices and cakes. Staff are friendly and happy to accommodate dietary needs. Visitors mention a complimentary drink on some visits.

Open daily from 07:00 to 21:00. It is perfectly placed for lunch before the temple, or dinner after the kecak fire dance performance at sunset. Unlike many roadside spots it has its own spacious parking, away from the road. Watch your belongings around the temple, where monkeys are known for grabbing glasses and phones.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
