The Tempekan Heritage is on Jl. Goa Lempeh in southern Pecatu, on the road towards the Bvlgari and The Edge clifftops. It takes its design cues from traditional Balinese family compounds, with rooms and bungalows arranged around a garden and pool, and decorative touches such as carved and painted wall panels.
There is an on-site restaurant, a 24-hour reception and a tours desk, and the team can arrange scooter hire and airport transfers. Rooms are comfortable and modest, which keeps prices well below the luxury resorts that dominate this stretch of coast.
It is a calm base for exploring the southern beaches, including Nyang Nyang, Uluwatu and Padang Padang, and the Uluwatu temple is a short drive away. You will need a scooter or driver, as there is little within walking distance. Book via the main booking platforms or by phone. Evenings are peaceful, and the restaurant saves you a ride out for dinner after a long day at the beach or the temple.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
