The Istana sits on the cliff edge off Jalan Pantai Suluban, overlooking the Uluwatu surf breaks, and has become the Bukit's best-known recovery and meditation centre. The spa circuit includes saunas (among them sound-dome saunas), a steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, a hot pool and an infinity pool, and it is the place to go if you want contrast therapy with an ocean view.
It also offers whole-body cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV drips and massage, plus daily yoga in the morning and some evenings, sound baths, breathwork, group meditation, Vipassana courses and yoga teacher trainings. The restaurant serves vegan and meat dishes.
It is open daily 07:00–21:00, with late Midnight Sessions in the spa from 21:30 to midnight. Yoga classes cost IDR 150k; spa and therapy prices are on the price list on the website. Weekends and sunset are busiest, so book ahead via WhatsApp or the site, and check for occasional maintenance closures.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
