The Edge sits on the high cliffs of Pecatu, on Jl. Goa Lempeh south of the Uluwatu surf breaks, with villas stepping down the cliff face towards the Indian Ocean. It is one of the most photographed resorts in Bali thanks to its glass-bottomed pool, which juts out from the cliff edge, and an aerial view of the property shows how close the buildings sit to the drop.
Accommodation is in private villas with their own pools and large living spaces, aimed at couples, families and groups who want space and seclusion. The resort has restaurants, bars and spa facilities on site, and a dedicated team handles reservations, dining and transfers.
It is far from the busy Uluwatu road, so expect to use a driver or the hotel's transport for trips to beaches such as Padang Padang or Melasti, roughly 15–20 minutes away. Book well ahead for peak season and ask about the minimum stay, which can apply to the larger villas.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
