Single Fin is perched on the cliff above Suluban beach, looking straight down at the Uluwatu reef break. It has been the default sunset stop for surfers for years: grab a table on the terraces, order a cold Bintang or a cocktail and watch sets roll through the lineup below as the sun drops.
The kitchen covers breakfast through dinner, with smoothie bowls, pizzas and grills, so it works as a daytime café as well as a bar. The big nights are Wednesday and Sunday, when it stays open until 2am with DJs and bands and a lively, mostly young surf crowd. Other nights it closes at 10pm (11pm on Saturdays).
Hours are 8am to 10pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8am to 11pm on Saturday, and 8am to 2am on Wednesday and Sunday. Arrive an hour before sunset for a terrace table, or book through the website. Parking is limited in the lanes above Suluban, so a scooter or a driver is the easier option.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
