Loca Warung is a small café-style warung on Jalan Raya Uluwatu, the main road towards Uluwatu Temple. It is bright and tidy, with wooden tables, woven lampshades and a terrace by the road, and it has become a regular stop for people staying nearby who want an affordable meal.

The menu mixes Indonesian dishes with a few Western options. Recent prices quoted by diners include grilled chicken with rice for about 45,000 rupiah, chicken fried rice for about 30,000 and pesto pasta for about 55,000, with fresh juices around 20,000. Nasi campur, chicken satay, chicken tortillas and large breakfast bagels are also popular, and fresh coconuts are available.

It is open from 9am to 10pm, but closed on Fridays. Because everything is cooked to order in a small kitchen, food can take a long time at busy periods, so it is better for a relaxed lunch than a quick stop before the temple's sunset Kecak dance. There is easy parking for scooters. The roadside tables can be noisy with passing traffic.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
