Tacos Aqui

Tacos Aqui is the Uluwatu outpost of a small Bali Mexican group, set in a vividly decorated space near the Pecatu end of Jl. Labuansait. Its pink entrance, patterned tiles and Mexican-style interior make it feel quite distinct from the surf cafés around it.

The menu centres on tacos, with fillings packed with flavour, plus burritos, chicken fajitas and ceviche such as a leche de tigre version with barramundi. Margaritas and other cocktails are on hand, and the music is kept at a level where you can talk. Service is friendly and quick.

Open daily from 16:00 to 23:00, so it is an evening venue. It comes alive after dark and is a good choice for a casual dinner with friends. If the burger restaurant next door has a long queue, this is a popular alternative. Scooter parking is on the roadside. Prices are mid-range for the strip, and sharing a few tacos and a ceviche is a good way to try the menu.
