Sugar Rock is set back from Jl. Labuansait on the southern stretch of the strip, with an indoor lounge and a shaded outdoor terrace surrounded by tropical planting. It opens in the afternoon and is a relaxed option for an early dinner after the beach.
The menu mixes Asian and Western cooking. Kung pao chicken is the dish most people mention, along with spring rolls, chicken yellow curry, nasi and mie goreng, pork ribs with crunchy potatoes, fresh fish such as barramundi, nachos and guacamole, and pizza. House cocktails include the Golden Spice and Padang Attack, and there are mocktails for non-drinkers. Prices are fair for the quality.
Open daily 15:00–22:30. Service is attentive: staff put mosquito repellent on each table and often bring watermelon with the bill. The terrace is the place to sit on a hot afternoon. Reviews from 2026 remain positive, though a few note that portions of sides can be modest.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
