Padang Breeze is a small guesthouse with a ground-floor café and restaurant at the western end of the Padang Padang strip. The dining room is decorated in a simple boho style, with timber tables, a thatched ceiling and a few sofas, and opens on to the road.
The main draw is the seafood barbecue in the evening, when fresh fish, prawns, squid and baked clams are grilled to order and served with rice, salad and sambal. Set barbecue deals are popular with surfers and hostel guests looking for a filling dinner without Uluwatu restaurant prices. In the daytime there is a straightforward menu of Indonesian staples such as nasi goreng, satay and nasi lemak, plus breakfasts, juices and coffee. Local house wine and Bintang are cheap.
Open from 08:00 to 23:00 most days (Google lists a shorter Monday). It is a casual, no-frills place: expect road noise and relaxed service. Ask what fish came in that day and confirm the price by weight before it goes on the grill.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
