Le Cliff Bali is built into the rocks directly above the Padang Padang surf break, off Jl. Labuansait. Its rooms step down the cliff, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning, and many have terraces looking straight out over the reef. Surfers can paddle out almost from the doorstep.
Rooms are styled with whitewashed walls, timber and woven textures, and the shared decks are a good place to watch surfers on the left-hander or the sunset in the evening. The hotel has a restaurant and offers yoga sessions, and the rest of the Bukit's beaches are a short scooter ride away.
Le Cliff has a 4.0 rating on Google from nearly 800 reviews; guests praise the location and views, while some note that rooms are simple for the price. Access is via steps, so it is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Book through the hotel website, which takes direct reservations, or message on WhatsApp. Padang Padang beach and the Labuan Sait cafés are a short walk away.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
