KALA is a Greek-inspired grill on Jl. Labuansait, a few minutes from Padang Padang beach. The setting mixes rustic and modern: lime-washed walls, timber tables, a long bar and an outdoor terrace planted with Mediterranean trees. Executive Chef Zarrukh, whose background includes the three-Michelin-starred Arzak in Spain, cooks over an open fire.
The menu is built for sharing: mezze such as tzatziki, hummus, spanakopita, dolmadakia and feta tempura; flatbreads; grilled octopus; wood-fired whole fish and seafood; charcoal-grilled black Angus, lamb shoulder, half chicken and tuna souvlaki; Greek salad and pasta, including a short rib pasta. Desserts include baklava cheesecake and loukoumades. The bar pours Negronis and Aperol Spritz on tap, signature cocktails and classic and natural wines. Vegetarian options run throughout.
Open daily 12:00–23:30. Book online or by WhatsApp, especially for dinner; walk-ins are welcome, but groups of six or more should call. There are weekly events and dinner nights; check Instagram for the current line-up.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
