Bukit Cafe is one of the larger cafés on Jl. Labuansait, a light-filled space with rattan lamps, tiled floors and an open front. It has been running for years and remains one of the easiest places on the strip to find a table, thanks to its size.
The menu is long and covers breakfast and brunch (omelettes, smoothie bowls, pancakes), Indonesian dishes, salads, fish and beef burgers and pulled pork, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. Coffee is well regarded, and healthy drinks with ginger and lime are popular; there are cocktails too, including a Bloody Mary with bacon. Some evenings bring live music duos.
Open daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Note that a 6% service charge and 10% tax are added to the bill. It is clean, smoke-free at the tables and relaxed, which makes it a dependable fallback when smaller cafés are full. It is within a few minutes' ride of Bingin and Padang Padang beaches, so it suits breakfast before a swim.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
