This branch of Warung Babi Guling Bu Made Jimbaran, signed as Kriuk Raja, is a simple Balinese warung in a lane south of Jl. Labuansait, a few minutes from Padang Padang beach. It has an open dining room with timber pillars and a glass counter where the roast pig is carved.
Babi guling is Bali's spit-roast suckling pig, and here it comes as a mixed plate of rice with sliced pork, crackling, spiced vegetables (lawar) and fried skin, with a bowl of pork soup on the side. The house special is the Kriuk Raja plate, built around a large piece of crackling. Pork satay is also available. Prices are low and portions vary with the cut.
Opening hours are not reliably published, and babi guling warungs often sell out by mid-afternoon, so go at lunchtime. Some diners have reported price discrepancies, so confirm the price of what you order before you eat. Parking is easy. Delivery is available through Gojek.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
