The Royal Santrian is a resort of private pool villas on the beach at Tanjung Benoa, the narrow peninsula north of the Nusa Dua enclave. Villas are walled and private, with their own pools, gardens and open-air living spaces, and the resort's beachfront infinity pool looks straight out to sea.
The beach here is calm and sheltered, suitable for swimming at higher tides, and Tanjung Benoa's water-sports centres are a short walk along the sand if you fancy something more active. The resort also has a spa and restaurant, and staff arrange in-villa dining.
It is part of the Santrian group, a Balinese family business that has run hotels on the island for decades. It is well suited to couples and families wanting privacy close to the beach. The airport is about 25 minutes away, and Nusa Dua's restaurants and shopping are five to ten minutes by car. Book early for high season.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
