Santai Beach House

Santai Beach House is a relaxed restaurant right on the beach on the Tanjung Benoa peninsula, off Jl. Pratama. As its name suggests (santai means relaxed in Indonesian), the style is unhurried: timber tables and loungers on the sand, shade from the trees and views across the calm, reef-protected water where the peninsula's boats and water sports operate. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with seafood, grills, Indonesian dishes and Western comfort food, plus cocktails and fresh juices.

The restaurant opens daily from 07:00 to 22:30. Evenings are the nicest time, when the beach goes quiet after the day-trippers leave. It hosts events and private functions, so check ahead on busy dates.

Santai has very strong reviews and is a good choice for a beachfront meal without the prices of the big resorts. Reserve on the website, particularly for dinner. It is easily reached by taxi from Nusa Dua, or on foot from hotels at the northern end of Tanjung Benoa.
