Nusa Dua Beach Grill is an independent restaurant on the southern edge of Nusa Dua, overlooking Geger Beach in Sawangan. It has a relaxed, open-air setting with lawns, palms and ocean views, and feels a world away from the big resort dining rooms nearby.
The menu covers fresh grilled seafood, wood-fired pizza, Indonesian dishes, burgers and curries, including a well-liked vegetable curry and vegetable spring rolls. Desserts such as grilled banana with caramel sauce and ice cream round things off. Staff are friendly and accommodating with large groups and celebrations.
Open daily from 08:30 to 22:00. It is most enjoyable at lunchtime or late afternoon, when you can see the beach. Access is via the Geger beach area, where a small entry fee per person is charged at the gate and the final road can be rough, so allow extra time and ask your driver to take you to the door.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
