Warung Bamboo is one of the smaller seafood cafés on the beach off Jl. Pemelisan Agung. Like its neighbours it sets out tables on the sand each afternoon, but it has a reputation for keeping prices a notch below the bigger names while maintaining quality.

Grilled red snapper is the dish people come back for, alongside prawns, crab, squid, clams and lobster. Seafood combos for two include rice, vegetables and a large beer, and there are tempeh satay and other non-seafood options. Diners regularly praise the friendly staff and the consistency of the cooking.

Open daily from 10:00 to 23:00, but the best time is late afternoon so you can watch the sunset over the bay. It sits at one end of the strip, so walk along the sand or ask your driver for it by name. Bring cash: payment has been cash only, and a seafood platter for two runs to several hundred thousand rupiah.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
