Lia Cafe is a family-run warung-style seafood café on the central part of Jimbaran Bay, off Jl. Pemelisan Agung. It is simpler than the big restaurants either side, with plastic-topped tables in the covered area and wooden tables on the beach, but the seafood is fresh and prices are lower than in most of the bay. Grilled fish, prawns, squid, clams and crab are cooked over coconut husks and served Jimbaran style with rice, water spinach, peanuts and a choice of sambals.

The café opens from 10:00 to 22:00 daily. Lunchtime is quiet and a good moment for a plate of grilled fish and a cold Bintang; from about 17:00 the tables on the sand fill up for sunset. Ask for prices by weight before you choose, as you would anywhere in Jimbaran.

The Kedonganan fish market at the north of the bay is a short drive away, so it is easy to combine a morning at the market with lunch here. Parking is on the beach road.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
