Laggas is a modern Asian fusion restaurant on Jl. Pantai Bingin, set slightly back from the main traffic with a lantern-lit terrace and an intimate dining room. It has become one of the area's most consistently well-reviewed evening spots, rated around 4.8 from well over a thousand reviews.

The menu borrows from across Southeast and East Asia. A 16-piece dumpling sampler is a popular way to start, followed by pork ribs, crispy tuna, ramen, fish curry and a well-made nasi goreng, with a few crossover dishes such as quesadillas. Portions are generous, drinks are good and service is attentive even on busy nights. There is a children's menu.

Laggas opens from 13:30 to 22:00 daily, so it works for a late lunch after the beach or for dinner. It is relaxed rather than formal and suits groups of friends and families. Walk-ins are usually seated quickly, though booking ahead is wise on weekend evenings.

Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
