El Kabron sits on the cliffs at Cemongkak, just north of Bingin, and was one of the first clifftop clubs on the Bukit. The set-up is a sunken infinity pool and lounge area with daybeds along the cliff edge, plus an oceanfront restaurant that serves Mediterranean and Spanish food, with paella, seafood and lobster pasta among the signature dishes.
Afternoons are relaxed, with swimmers in the pool and long lunches on the terrace. As the sun goes down the music builds, with DJs and live saxophone performances during the sunset parties, which are what most people come for. The restaurant terrace faces due west, so tables for sunset dinners are the most sought after.
Book ahead for daybeds and sunset tables, especially in the dry season and at weekends; reservations can be made by WhatsApp or through the website. The club is at the end of Jl. Pantai Cemongkak off the main Uluwatu road, about ten minutes from Bingin by scooter, with parking on site.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
