Bingin Lodge is a row of wooden, lumbung-style cottages set along a long pool and lawn on Jl. Buana Sari, the road between Bingin and Padang Padang. The traditional rice-barn shape gives each cottage a sleeping loft or high ceiling, and the garden setting keeps it green and quiet.
It is a good-value base for surfers and families: Bingin's steps, Impossibles and Padang Padang are all a few minutes away by scooter, and there are plenty of cafés and warungs on the surrounding lanes for breakfast and dinner.
The pool is long enough for proper laps, which is useful on days when the surf is flat. Facilities are simple but well kept. Book through the website, by phone or on the booking platforms, and ask the reception about scooter hire and surf lessons nearby. Rates are reasonable for the area, and the layout gives families a little more space than a standard hotel room.
Peak season runs July to August and over Christmas: the best villas and beach-club beds book out early.
