Alchemy Uluwatu

Alchemy is the Uluwatu branch of the long-running Ubud plant-based café, set in a ranch-style building surrounded by greenery near the top of Jl. Pantai Bingin. Its entire menu is vegan and gluten-free, which makes it a reliable choice for anyone with coeliac disease or allergies.

The highlight is the DIY bar, where you build your own salad or smoothie bowl from a long counter of fresh ingredients. The kitchen also turns out breakfast burritos, wraps, pizzas, raw desserts and a big range of juices, smoothies and lattes. A small grocery section sells organic products. Service is fast and attentive.

Open daily from 07:30 to 21:30. It is often packed at peak times and can be noisy, but there are laptop-friendly corners for working. It sits next to Alchemy's yoga studio, so many people come straight after a class. Portions are fair rather than huge, and prices are mid-range for the area.
